Some more Color Layering Stamps

April 9, 2018

Hello everyone, it’s Juhi with another project for this month’s ‘Use your favorite Hero Arts Product‘ Challenge.

My favorite Hero Arts product are Color Layering Stamps. I find myself reaching out for the Seahorse Color Layering Stamp again and again. I find this stamp set to be extremely versatile, the possibilities are endless. What’s more, it’s just perfect for making masculine cards! You could make a card with a beautiful watercolor ocean background like I’ve done here, or you create a stamped background like today’s card.

Hero Arts Sea Horse Color Layering Stamps

I first stamped the focal seahorse using Hero Arts Inks in colors – soft pool, pool and navy. I then randomly stamped the starfish, seashell and tiny seahorses around the focal seahorse image.

I finished the card by mounting the stamped panel onto a black cardstock base and stamping and heat embossing the sentiment on back cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you like my card, don’t forget to visit the main Challenge Post and participate. We can’t wait to see what you make!

Thinking of You

November 24, 2017

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back today with more clean & simple inspiration as I play along with this month’s challenge to CASE one of the A Blog Named Hero designers!

I made a simple Thinking of You design, taking inspiration from a poodle card by Emily Midgett (seen below my card).

I just loved the classic red, white and black color scheme and polka dotted background on her card and wanted to create a similar design.  I used the adorable bunny from Neat & Tangled’s Holiday Baking set as my main image, adding just a touch of color to its cheek.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Everyday Sayings set.  The little candy cane is from the same set and is colored with a red Copic marker.  I changed the color arrangement ever so slightly, using a black polka dot decorative paper instead of red as the base.  I then used red cardstock as the matte behind the main panel.  The black polka dot paper was glued directly to the white cardstock card base.  Once assembled, the main panel was attached to the card using foam adhesive to add a little dimension to the overall design.  I then added just a touch of sparkle to the candy cane using a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  Here is Emily’s original design:

You have a few more days to join us in this challenge!  We’ve collaborated with Neat & Tangled this month and are using their images as inspiration on our designs!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Bunny Love

October 27, 2017

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more clean and simple inspiration for using critters for this month’s Calling All Critters Challenge.

Lawn Fawn is our sponsor and I used their Snow Day stamp set along with the Hero Arts Totally set (geometric) to create this design.

I used Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Journaling Die to create the main panel.  The geometric line was stamped in black ink.  I then stamped and cut out the two bunnies, popping them up with foam adhesive.  I then stamped a heart in Hero Arts Crimson Ink and cut it out before popping it up with foam adhesive.  A little white Wink of Stella was added to the heart to create a little more shine.  The assembled main panel was then attached to the card base using foam adhesive.

One Layer Thinking of You

September 22, 2017

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more one layer clean and simple for this month’s collaboration with CAS-ual Fridays!

With fall arriving this week, I went with kraft cardstock and created a monochromatic one layer design.

The background pattern is CAS-ual Friday’s Full on Floral stamp.  The bird is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird & Branch set and the sentiment is from the Hero Arts Everyday Sayings set.  Everything was stamped in Versafine black ink.

Come join us as we wrap up another month of challenge fun with one layer card designs!  You can find the current challenge and gallery here.

Until next time, happy stamping!

Emerald Happy Birthday card

August 14, 2017

Hello! Michelle L here with you today to share a card I made using WOW! glitter embossing powder.

I started with some pool layering paper from Hero Arts, and stamped the “Leaf and Floral Background” stamp with Versamark ink, then added Emerald City embossing glitter from WOW! and heat set it. I am seriously in love with this embossing powder! I cut the panel down with a rectangle die and a circle die, and then cut out the “happy” die from the “Happy stamp & cut” set from Hero Arts three times. I layered the die cuts to give a bit of dimension to the sentiment, then added Versamark to the top layer and sprinkled on the Emerald City embossing glitter towards the bottom, and clear embossing glitter towards the top to give a glittery ombre effect. I stamped the “birthday” from Hero Arts “Birthday Sayings”  in Smoky Grey Versafine ink before adhering the panel and the hello die cut to a white top folding card front.
