I am back for this month’s A Blog Named Hero Summertime challenge. Are you going to play along?I really love to spend time in my garden and as I mentioned in my previous post, I really enjoy when the hummingbirds come for a visit. Most of my garden are perennials and all of those are from my parents’ garden in Maine. One of my favorites are the orange tiger lilies and I wanted to recreate them using the Hero Arts Color Layering Tiger Lily stamp set. For more, visit my post on my blog.
On a piece of 110lb Solar White Neenah cardstock I created diagonal score lines with my bone folder and score buddy. Using a circle die, I cut a window for my shaker card. Using a piece of acetate, I adhered it to the back of the panel. On 80lb Solar White Neenah cardstock, I stamped 3 tiger lilies using Tangerine, Just Rust, Orange Soda and Strawberry (these last two colors I mixed on the last layer of the stamp). I also stamped a single hummingbird and used my Zig Real Color Brush Pens and a shimmer pen to color my birdie (warm grey 2, pink flamingo, orange and pale rose). Using the coordinating dies, I cut all of my images out. On a strip of white cardstock, I black heat embossed my sentiment from the Tiger Lily stamp set.
To assemble my card, I mounted the scored window panel with craft foam onto a top folding notecard (do not forget to add your shaker elements!). I adhered two of my lilies and then added foam tape to the last lily and the hummingbird for dimension. I tucked my sentiment strip across the front of the window. The details for the flowers were added with a black gel pen and a white gel pen.
I hope to see your creation entered into this month’s Summertime challenge! Thank you for stopping by!
