Hello there! Kimberly here with a fun light up card for our Interactive Challenge this month! I was so excited to work with products from Chibitronics, our sponsor for this month’s challenge – I’ve never used them, and I have to tell you – it was a pretty easy process!
I started by stamping a background for my focal panel using a retired Hero Arts background stamp called Zig Zag (you could use something similar, such as this stamp). I kept my stamping simple, adding three cupcakes down the center and heat embossing the sentiment. Next I colored the cupcakes with Copic markers and adhered this piece to a Hero Arts postage stamp die cut. Next I cut down a smaller piece of cardstock and temporarily adhered it to the back of my focal panel. I poked tiny holes through the candle flames where the lights will shine through!
The Chibitronics are quite easy to work with! I created my circuit on the smaller piece of paper using the poked holes as my guide for where the lights would be placed. Once complete, I adhered the circuit piece to the focal panel with three layers of foam tape (to make sure that the lights only turn on when pressed).
This is such a fun way to take your cards to the next level!!! I can’t wait to see what you create for this month’s Interactive Challenge!
