Did you hop along with our blog hop last month? If you did, you might have seen two cards from me using my favourite Hero Arts stamp, the Flower Dot Pattern background. I have to apologise in advance – this stamp is discontinued 🙁 But the technique I used would work with lots of other Hero Arts background stamps, so it is making another appearance here today.
The technique is the same I used in the March 25th blog hop – stamp and heat emboss the image onto watercolour cardstock, colour with Zig markers, then spray with lots of water, heat set, then repeat the colour and water step if desired. This technique works particularly well with stamps that have enclosed line images, making little areas that trap water and colour. It results in some areas getting more intense colour than others, and so there is heaps of variation in the shades you get. Seeing as this stamp is discontinued, I will link below to other Hero Arts stamps that I know (or think) would work particularly well with this technique.
By the way, I have been in contact with Hero Arts after all the comments I had on my blog last month about how disappointing it is that this stamp is discontinued. Unfortunately, I’ve been told that there are no plans at the moment for this stamp to be revived, but I will always keep a lookout for stamps that will work well with techniques like this one in new releases from Hero Arts.
Have you linked up at our April challenge yet? The theme is Anything Goes, so you really should!
