Hello, crafty friends! Michelle Lupton here, very happy and excited to be back again for another year with A Blog Named Hero. You have already met all of the new design team – aren’t they fabulous? Well, for those of you who do not know me, or for those of you who are new to A Blog Named Hero, let me tell you something about myself.
Firstly, I’m an Aussie. My day job is as a teacher – I teach biology to tertiary students. I also sing in a couple of choirs, and I am in a book club. And I make cards – I have done so for a long time, but I have blogged about it since 2011, shortly after which I discovered the wonderful worldwide community of stampers and card-makers out there! My style has evolved over the years, but right now, I love stamping, along with rainbows, watercolouring, flowers, stencils, and the colour blue (and the oxford comma – certified nerd, right here). I’m a CAS card-maker, with occasional forays into not-so-clean and definitely-not-simple. I’ve been with A Blog Named Hero since 2013, and I also coordinate the Facebook page for A Blog Named Hero, so please be sure to visit and say hello to our wonderful Facebook Design Team.
You can find my blog HERE, and you can also find me on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest. (I do have a twitter account, but don’t hold your breath waiting for me to post anything!)
Anyhow, enough about me – here’s my card to say hello!
I started by using the Large Flower stencil to add some very pale orange to the card base, and then stamped the sentiment in Intense Black ink. I stamped a bunch of the images from the “You’re So Lovely” stamp set in various ink colours, and die cut them with the matching dies. I then spent AGES arranging them!! (You have no idea. Seriously.) I really admire people who make collage cards regularly – it’s not easy! I adhered most of the elements using Multi Medium Matte, but then popped the two flowers up on layers of dimensional adhesive. A sprinkling of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and I was done!
I hope to see you here again very soon – we have a bunch of new challenges planned for you in the new year, and some amazing collaboration partners – you won’t want to miss a minute!
And don’t forget, to celebrate our new home, we have a $20 gift certificate to Hero Arts for one lucky commenter! Have you seen their new Valentine’s release? Definitely something you’ll want to check out. We will draw a random winner from comments on all design team introduction posts (which began here), so the more you comment, the more chances to win!
Thanks for visiting 🙂
Michelle
